The Gellért Hill

The Gellért hill is a beautiful hill on the Buda side, and is part of the Buda hills. It is located at the foot of the Chain bridge, and has a ton of interesting facilities on it that are worth checking out, our version of the statue of liberty, a spa and one of the best places to go hiking inside the city. This 139 meter tall mini dolomite mountain is a natural wonder, and has been dubbed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, because of the unique Citadel and the view of Budapest that is absolutely superb.

If you have ever visited Budapest, you may have noticed that there are signs, partially in braille, advertising an invisible exhibit all over the city. This exhibit is exactly what it sounds like; an exhibit made for the blind, with the idea being that by experiencing the world without this most important sense, the worlds of the sighted and the blind can somehow be reconciled for the sake of social solidarity. This idea is unique in the world and was developed here, and has been one of the main tourist attractions for this country in recent years.

Like most cities, the Hungarian capital is teeming with life, new buildings are built, old ones destroyed, and many times the old fire walls are left in place, like a sore thumb. This aesthetic problem has prompted a new generation of artists to use their creativity and find a solution. The obvious one is street art.
